Volunteers assist in the commercial operations by helping the guides on the whale and dolphin watching tours. With the knowledge they gain from their Marine Guiding Program, volunteers will be able to either guide trips or assist the guides by fielding questions from the whale watching guests.
Volunteers will spend one day a week working with the children at the pre-school teaching them about marine conservation, playing games, teaching songs and doing skits. Our Sponsor-a-Child Program is now in full swing, follow our link to find out more or visit our website.
One of the primary goals of the ORCA foundation is to educate. By taking local school children on a tour of the bay and educating them about conservation we will increase the possibility of keeping the bay pristine for future generations.
The field band foundation started in Plettenberg Bay over the June school holidays. This is part of an international organisation that started in Norway and has spread throughout the world with great success. For more information regarding the Field Band Foundation click here.
The Orca Foundation is part of a volunteer community dedicated to marine conservation in South Africa, and like many conservation projects depends on the willingness of others to contribute their time and dedication to furthering the volunteer and conservation ethics that go hand in hand for a better future.
